Diggen' Dirt For Him: First Few Days

Well, this post is overdue! Since I don't have internet at the house, these posts will probably be few and far between, maybe only once or twice a week. But if you send me Starbucks giftcards I'll be able to post more often! :)

The drive up was long but gorgeous! At one point the sky looked like Andy's wallpaper from Toy Story! Got to Aunt Kathi and Uncle Kenny's around 8pm-ish. Wasn't up long before my head hit the pillow and I was out!! Sunday was spent chilling. I went to lunch with Aunt Kathi, Uncle Kenny, and Sarah at a great restaurant in Fredricksburgh. VERY YUMMY!!!

After lunch and chilling at Aunt Kathi and Uncle Kenny's house, I took the plunge and drove to my housing for the summer! And after about a 25 minute drive, this is the site that greeted my eyes!

Very quaint and not at all what I expected. I expected we would be somewhere in the park in a cabin. But it was not to be! I would explain my living arrangements but I figured it's just easier to show it in pictures! So see below for pics of the house!

The first day was a good one. Sat through a lot of talks about safety and all the different divisions in the park, but it was amazing to see what it takes to run a small park in comparison to places like Yellowstone! We took a park tour before lunch and met pretty much everyone on staff. My supervisor is Creole, which is pretty awesome!! And then the park supervisor is Puerto Rican which is freaking awesome too!!

The rest of the week is going to be doing fun stuff like learning basic skills we might need over the summer. Some of it like water testing, I'm not going to need, but it'll be good to learn the skills just in case I ever need them! Looking forward to getting started on my project!!!
