ANYWAY!!! I am now sitting in Starbucks with my Awake tea, my Birks on and generally feeling "hip". Which means it's time for a picture montage to get you caught up with my life! First I will give you a tour of the building where I work!
T.R.E.C. is the building I work in. TREC stands for Turkey Run Education Center. Awesome name I know....but it's right off the Turkey Run trail, so that's where it comes from!
Above is a picture of the the outside of TREC. I work in the portion of the building on the left. That's where the offices, lab, and sort of conference room area is. The right side is the class room. The next couple pictures are of the inside of my side of TREC.
One of the seasonal's office area and the lab behind it
The main conference area, and the kitchen area behind the fridge
If you go off this picture to the left you'll get to the offices of the supervisors. The chair in the picture is mine. :)
This is a better picture of my desk area! See those drawers that are pulled out? FULL of information on deeds and cemeteries!
Inside the market....there was lots to buy!
Awesome pasta!!
Flowers!!!
And jewelry!!!
After walking around the Market, J (the other cultural intern) took me wandering around the row houses in the area of the market. We found something even cooler than the houses! Take a gander........
Pretty peacock!
Yeah...That's a painted bug! SA-WEET!!
After the market and the AWESOME car! We headed towards the Capitol. We took a detour into the Library of Congress! AMAZING place! I want to do research there someday! A gorgeous building and gorgeous books!! :)
Sorry about the fuzzy picture.....yeah that's all mosaic and there's Latin at the bottom!!!
Oh I also got to learn how to change a fuel line on a car! C's (my housemate) fuel line decided to spring a leak and so I helped change it. Well I didn't really help.....just watched and kept her company!
I was keeping the clamps safe! :)
C is a BEAST when it comes to fixing cars!
The other exciting thing the housemates and I did was watch Paul (our resources supervisor)'s dog, Jasmine! She was such a sweetie! Went on a walk and had a good time!
K surveying all before her! :)
C enjoying the stream
Jasmine LOVED the water! Thought I was going to go in a couple times, chasing after her!
Home again! Home again! Jiggity jig!
Ok, so that's the last set of pictures! I'll have to write about my adventures today in a later post! I'm tired! Check back! I'll try to post more frequently!!!
